For Oscar Wilkins, 35, NorCal native and full-time lineman (yes, the kind climbing poles and running heavy equipment), this isn’t just another JDM project — it’s the crown jewel of his collection.
And ironically?
It wasn’t even the car he was originally shopping for.
From Need for Speed to the Real Thing
Oscar didn’t grow up wrenching.
He didn’t come from a garage full of builds.
His passion began where many of ours did — sitting in front of a screen playing Need for Speed. 🎮
The cars.
The sound.
The chase.
That planted the seed.
His first car?
A 2004 Subaru Outback LL Bean Edition — practical, reliable, and loved.
But the real shift occurred when he purchased a 2007 Nissan 350Z. That Z became his first serious build: automatic-to-manual swap, widebody, full bolt-ons, tuned — hands-on experience that laid the groundwork for everything that followed.
The One That Chose Him
Oscar was actually hunting for a Mitsubishi Evo IX.
Then Facebook Marketplace did what Facebook Marketplace does.
A Midnight Purple RHD 1994 Supra popped up.
Manual.
Right-hand drive.
2JZ-powered.
Game over.
