Rosa N. – 2019 Dodge Challenger SXT “Sexy”

“To single moms: You are allowed to have a life and do something for yourself. To grieving parents: Life does go on—it’s hard, but your child would want you to keep living.” – Rosa
Turning 50 was a milestone Rosa never imagined would come so quickly. A forklift operator at Tesla, she likes to joke that her car is “sponsored by Tesla”—because her paychecks fuel every modification. But her 2019 Dodge Challenger SXT, which she calls “Sexy”, is far more than just a build. It’s a lifeline, a source of healing, and a rolling tribute to her late son, Joseph.
Life Before the Build
Rosa’s story is full of resilience. She is a single mom of seven and a grandmother to ten. She had her first child at 17 and her last 17 years later, while returning to school twice.
Her dad tried to teach her about cars when she was younger, but she never paid much attention. Now, she laughs that she owns a car she’s still figuring out, learning as she goes.
Tragedy and Healing
In September 2023, Rosa’s life changed forever. Just weeks after celebrating her son’s and father’s birthdays, she received a devastating phone call: her son Joe had passed away.
The grief was unbearable. For months, Rosa battled depression and suicidal thoughts, putting on a fake smile for the world while breaking inside. “I just wanted to be with my son,” she recalls. Only her daughter Chyan’s watchful care helped her endure those dark months.
Nearly a year later, she knew Joe would have been upset if she stayed in that state. “He would’ve told me to stop being so dramatic,” Rosa says. With that thought, she made a choice: she would live for him.
The Comeback – Mopar Heaven 2025
In August 2025, Rosa committed to returning to Mopar Heaven in Texas. With her daughters, Chyan and Shonah, by her side, she reimagined Sexy’s look. Gabe from @legendary_wrapz executed the wrap design, which included a tribute to Joe.
The road trip to Texas wasn’t simple—two stops for mods on the way, dirt from four states clinging to the car—but it was worth it. At the show, Rosa caught the attention of Terry from Rdmbuilds, who surprised her with the first-ever RDM Black Card. The next day, he returned with even bigger news: Rosa had been chosen for SEMA 2025.
She accepted with Joe’s ashes in her hand, whispering, “Joe, we’re going to SEMA.”
Why the Challenger?
For Rosa, the choice was easy. “Omg! Look at the lines, the stance, the sex appeal. Beautiful!” she says.
She test drove a Mustang, a Camaro, a Charger, and a Challenger before deciding. It didn’t matter what trim level—it was always going to be a Challenger. “Sexy” became the perfect name for the car that would carry her through grief and into healing.
Advice for Builders
Rosa’s message to new builders is clear:
-
“Run. Don’t do it!” (she laughs).
-
Builds are stressful—do your research, ask questions, and take it one step at a time.
-
Start small and let your vision grow.
But above all: “Remember, it’s your car and your vision. Have fun with it.”
What Makes Sexy Unique
“She’s mine. Lol.”
But there’s more to it—Sexy isn’t just a Challenger. She’s a tribute, a survivor, and a symbol of Rosa’s journey back to life.

Looking Ahead
Rosa insists she’ll never sell Sexy. “She saved me, and for that, she’s priceless.”
Up next, she plans to update the audio system and redo the lighting—because a builder’s work is never really finished.
Dream Cars
If given the chance, Rosa would love to own a 1969 Dodge Charger and a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air—two timeless icons that match her bold style and love for classics.
🔥 Through heartbreak, resilience, and passion, Rosa turned her Challenger into more than just a car. Sexy is a reminder that V6s can be baddies, and that sometimes, builds aren’t just about horsepower—they’re about healing, family, and carrying the memory of loved ones forward.
